Overview

General Summary

  

Directs and coordinates activities of workers engaged in picking, loading and shipping alcoholic beverage products.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervises the operations of the night shift warehouse crew.
  • Over sees operations, ensuring that schedules and performance requirements are met and system resources are used effectively.
  • Assists Manager with staffing, development and performance management programs for warehouse crew
  • Enforces compliance with administrative policies, procedures, safety rules, and governmental regulations.
  • Inspects warehouse facilities and equipment for job readiness and safe operation.
  • Schedules manpower to match the business needs and accomplish corporate goals.
  • Verify active fleet is able to accommodate scheduled activities, if not schedule rentals as needed.
  • Conducts safety meetings with crew.
  • Monitors all activities to achieve corporate goals.
  • Coordinates with other members of management to assure a smooth transition between shifts.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • In conjunction with the Ops Manager, responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • Willingness to work flexible hours in order to get the job accomplished.
  • Basic Microsoft Office computer skills
  • Ability to adapt to change easily and relate to people.

 

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree and/or 3-5 years related experience.

 

COMMUNICATION SKILLS: This position will require the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  This position will also require the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  This position will further require the ability to speak effectively before customers, managers or employees of the organization.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: This position will require the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  This position will also require the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.

 

REASONING ABILITY: This position will require the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. This position will also require the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS – (These are required to perform the key responsibilities of the job with or without accommodations)

  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds when required
  • Must be able to walk, stand, climb, balance, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl when required
