The Payroll Analyst supports the production of payroll and the 3rd party payroll vendors that provide administrative services to Young’s Market Company with a focus on Taxes and Garnishment processing.


  • Supports the production of payroll ensuring that integrations to various third party services providers occur in accordance to production schedules and service level agreements.
  • Responsible for all payroll tax and garnishment activities including compliance with local, state, federal regulations and reconciling data sent to the third-party vendors. Also responsible for reporting of tax liabilities, responding to questions and special requests from employees and regulatory agencies, researching laws and regulation regarding taxes, garnishments and payroll withholding procedures.
  • Performs outbound and inbound integrations of Workday Payroll system data to other internal company systems (GL) and external third party administrators.
  • Updates UI rates in Workday system as notified by Equifax.
  • Notifies company Cash Management department of net payroll funding requirements to be disbursed from the regular on-cycle and off-cycle payroll process.  Prepares vouchers to support AP check requests and daily reverse wire requirements.
  • Ensures documentation of all routine processes is complete and up-to-date as changes occur.
  • Other tasks and projects as assigned by senior manager.


EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/EDUCATION:  A Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from an accredited four-year college, university, or equivalent work experience, and at least 3 years of payroll experience required. CPP or FPC Certification is highly desirable


COMMUNICATION SKILLS: This position will require the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. This position will also require the ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  This position will further require the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups’ managers, employees, customers, and the general public.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: This position will require the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.


REASONING ABILITY: This position will require the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. This position will also require the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Certified Payroll Professional (CCP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FCP) preferred.



  • In-house payroll is required.
  • Experience with payrolls of 1,000+ employees preferred.
  • Ability to work in Multi-state payroll and have tax knowledge.
  • Experience with interpreting and managing Garnishments.
  • Union experience preferred.
  • Experience using Workday, Oracle Payroll, PeopleSoft, ADP or SAP is highly desirable.
  • Experience using Kronos is desirable.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and effective communication skills are also required with a desire and ability to work and communicate as a team.
  • Strong verbal and writing communication skills required.
  • Self-starter, with minimal direct supervision is preferred.
