Overview

Young’s Market Company is seeking a highly motivated and passionate Intern with excellent analytical skills who is passionate about using data to drive informed business decisions.  This is an immediate paid internship at Young’s corporate headquarters in Tustin, California.  The minimum duration is 3 months with the opportunity to extend up to 9 months based on performance.

Responsibilities

PROJECT WORK AND ANALYSIS (POTENTIAL OPPORTUNITIES):

 

  • Create models to analyze and forecast the financial implications of compensation programs and communicate the results in a way that informs and drives action. 
  • Evaluate jobs and salary ranges for market competitiveness. 
  • Roll-out our compensation and total rewards philosophy that inspires and recognizes high performance, while differentiating rewards for top talent.
  • Assist with developing communications for new and or revised programs.    
  • Conduct pay equity audits, statistical analysis and make recommendations for adjustments. 
  • Establish HR analytics tools, scorecards/dashboards, presentations and analyses on relevant metrics to transform decision making.    
  • Learn the basics of compensation analysis and competitive benchmarking and apply that knowledge by assisting the team with market analysis.    
  • May perform additional duties assigned.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completed or working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Mathematics or related field. 
  • Available to work 20 – 25 hours per week.
  • Demonstrated technical skills in MS Excel (advanced formulas, data manipulation, macros). 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Quantitative and analytical skills (regression and predictive modeling).

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Working towards a Master’s in Business Administration.
  • Completed coursework in Statistics, Finance and/or Accounting.
  • HRIS, specifically Workday, experience helpful.
