This is a paid internship at Young’s corporate headquarters in Tustin, California for 20-25 hours a week.  The minimum duration is 3 months with the opportunity to extend up to 9 months based on performance.  The HR Intern will report to the Sr. Manager, Compensation and will contribute to key 2017 initiatives and projects.  The incumbent will acquire fundamental HR knowledge related to base pay administration and managing pay equity. 


  • Review Young’s Market job profiles and apply various job evaluation methodologies to ensure appropriate internal alignment and pay grade classification.    
  • Partner with HR Business Partners and the business to develop or update job descriptions. 
  • Complete an internal equity analysis of positions and make recommendations for salary adjustments. 
  • Gather and update market data using third party surveys for benchmark positions.  Evaluate jobs and salary ranges for market competitiveness.   
  • Assist with statistical analysis, modeling and the cost impact for the salary adjustment recommendations.   
  • May perform additional duties assigned.



  • Completed or working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management with an interest in Human Resources and/or compensation. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially in Excel and PowerPoint. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Quantitative and analytical skills.



  • Working towards a Master’s in Business Administration.
  • Completed coursework in Statistics, Finance and/or Accounting.
  • Prior work experience.
  • HRIS experience helpful.
