Overview

To sell the Estates Group wine portfolio to key accounts of both on and off premise in the state of Arizona.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Estates Group Sales Specialists are expected to plan time and activities to ensure achievement of established goals and sales objectives within assigned accounts.
  • Developing monthly, weekly and daily written plans for execution.
  • Establishing and following an efficient and economical routing pattern that ensures assigned accounts are serviced and merchandised as needed.
  • Following the established guidelines for a complete sales call.
  • Being responsible for all aspects of servicing and merchandising within assigned accounts.
  • Executing market objectives on a selected fine wine portfolio, On and Off Premise.
  • Achieve company and supplier goals and sales objectives within assigned accounts.
  • Manage special events (i.e. Wine Maker Dinners, Market Work Withs, Trade Tastings)
  • Manage pre-sells and vintage sensitive projects (i.e., Bordeaux Futures and Vintage Port pre-sells).
  • Assist in training and educating our sales staff on all facets of wine knowledge.
  • Make sales presentations to key accounts, both on/off premise.
  • Assist the marketing department with pricing for non-mainstream items
  • Estates Group Sales Specialists are expected to serve as information resources for, and conduits between, the field and the company’s management.
  • Communicating issues, opportunities and market intelligence with appropriate management through written, electronic and verbal means.
  • Maintaining up-to-date, accurate territory and account records.
  • Submitting prompt and accurate reports.
  • Following company policies and procedures.

 

Accountability:

Communicate all sales issues and opportunities for their respective area of responsibility.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree preferred; (3) or more years of related experience preferably one to two in wine sales with an alcoholic beverage wholesaler or supplier and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

 

Prior retail merchandising experience highly preferred

 

Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical and objection handling skills

 

Ability to work with management, colleagues and customers throughout the business and industry at every level

 

Must possess valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle and clean DMV record

 

 

COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos, write simple correspondence, and to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Spanish bilingual abilities preferred.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions (in written, oral, or diagram form), and to deal with a variety of abstract variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Requires a current state driver's license; ability to meet company vehicle insurance requirements.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS – (These are required to perform the key responsibilities of the job with or without accommodations)

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly
  • Must be able to walk, stand, climb, balance, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl on a daily basis
  • Must be able to drive a reliable vehicle from account to account

 

Other Qualifications:

Sales Function: Knowledge of the major responsibilities, accountabilities, and organization of the sales function and sales information systems.

 

Sales Tasks & Activities: Knowledge of processes, tools, techniques and theory behind selling the organization’s products or services.

 

Knowledge of Customers & Sales Channels: Knowledge of and ability to coordinate multiple and diverse options for selling the organization’s products and services. Knowledge of and ability to utilize customer profile information.

 

Knowledge of Product Line: Knowledge of specific products and associated development process and strategy.
