Job Description Summary
•Compiles data from sources such as contracts, purchase orders, invoices, requisitions and accounting reports and write, types or enters information into computer to maintain inventory, debits and credits or other records.
•Compiles stock control records and information such as error rates and return reason codes.
•Compares stock numbers, authorized substitutes and other listed information with references to verify accuracy of requisitions and shipping orders.
•Read production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed.
•Conveys and moves materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
•Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color or production code.
•Sorts and stores some goods in refrigerated rooms.
•Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to loading station or stacks into trucks.
•Marks materials with identifying information.
•Arranges stock in specified sequence for distribution by other workers.
•Drives and operates lifting equipment to transport stored items from warehouse to plant or to pick-up items from several locations for shipment.
