  • Overview

    The Purchasing Agent II will coordinate activities involved with procuring alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverage products for the organization by analyzing and reviewing inventory quantities to ensure availability of product and prevent overstock situations. The Purchasing Agent II will be responsible for inventory management, inventory levels, and customer service levels. This role will maintain effective communication between Purchasing and Sales departments.

     

    The Purchasing Agent II  will prepare reports identifying obsolete, slow moving inventory and review product master and item file maintenance for all commodities in portfolio. Purchasing Agent II  will also maintain positive and professional relationships with suppliers and other outside vendors.

    Responsibilities

    • Analyze, plan and manage inter-branch transfers from the Regional Inventory Center to the fulfillment warehouses.
    • Utilize and implement available data and develop systems to generate analysis against category, segment, class of trades, and consumption. Run reports, analyzes output and proactively makes decisions to removes roadblocks
    • Create a baseline forecast using multiple sources of data and various quantitative techniques
    • Utilize historical data, current order-book trends, and statistical models to facilitate the agreement of a consensus business plan with sales and finance
    • Work closely with Sales, S&OP and Portfolio Managers to translate product trends and sales plans into the demand forecast and inventory purchase decisions
    • Leverage consensus plans to create product group & SKU level forecasts and execute the buy
    • Effectively maintain the Inventory Purchase Process
    • Own demand-to-forecast deviation review. Identify, articulate and effectively react to sales trends as well as inventory risks & opportunities in-season
    • Create monthly Inventory Forecast for Executive Management.
    • Own the sales-analysis process for suppliers and Identify risks and opportunities against forecast
    • Perform forecast accuracy analysis – Weekly, Monthly, and Quarterly. Document and analyze key drivers of forecast accuracy variances.
    • Perform SKU Productivity Analysis
    • Manage defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users and others to determine source of trouble and makes recommendation on corrective action.
    • Analyze low-stock and daily out-of-stocks and manages the purchasing of these items and the expedited deliveries.
    • Other duties assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor degree in relevant field required
    • 5+ years of combined industry experience in several of the following areas: Procurement, Operations or Supply Chain.
    • Experience with Oracle Demantra and Manhattan TMS (or other industry-leading software) is desired
    • High proficiency in Excel and other relevant enterprise applications
    • Ability to summarize and effectively communicate complex subject matter
    • Proven analytical skills when working with large amounts of data with the ability to summarize and articulate risks/opportunities, options and recommendations
    • Detail oriented, energetic, open to new ways of thinking
    • Ability to consider multiple points of view and propose solutions accordingly
    • Able to succeed with ambiguity and working independently
    • Desire to create value and push the boundaries of growth

     

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Advanced degree
    • Beverage industry experience
