  • Overview

    The Demand Planner is a highly-visible position responsible for maintaining all monthly operational forecasts. The role will drive collaboration with Merchandising, Sales and Finance to reconcile forecast gaps and adjust the baseline forecast. The role will utilize sales and marketing data to provide effective demand forecasts aimed at optimizing inventory and the development of strategies to achieve division revenue goals.



    • Utilize and implement available data and develop systems to generate analysis against category, segment, class of trades, and consumption. Run reports, analyzes output and proactively makes decisions to removes roadblocks
    • Routinely researches market intelligence to ensure that demand forecasts are accurate and up-to-date
    • Coordinate communication & publication of the sales forecasting tool within departments
    • Presents analytics-based demand forecasts to multiple departments, including upper management
    • Continuous improvement in demand planning process. Technology search
    • Customer forecast collaboration initiatives
    • Create a baseline forecast using multiple sources of data and various quantitative techniques
    • Utilize historical data, current order-book trends, and statistical models to facilitate the agreement of a consensus business plan with sales and finance
    • Work closely with Sales, S&OP and Portfolio Managers to identify key sales indicators for specific products to provide relevant analysis and guidance with respect to decision-making, and translate product trends and sales plans into the demand forecast and inventory purchase decisions
    • Leverage consensus plans to create product group & SKU level forecasts and execute the buy
    • Own demand-to-forecast deviation review. Identify, articulate and effectively react to sales trends as well as inventory risks & opportunities in-season
    • Own the sales-analysis process for suppliers and Identify risks and opportunities against forecast
    • Perform forecast accuracy analysis – Weekly, Monthly, and Quarterly. Document and analyze key drivers of forecast accuracy variances.
    • Responsible for SKU Productivity Analysis, Inventory and budgets
    • Other duties assigned.



    • Bachelor degree in relevant field required
    • 5+ years of Demand Planning experience in a multi-facility distribution environment with high SKU counts.
    • Experience with Oracle Demantra and Manhattan TMS (or other industry-leading software) is desired
    • High proficiency in Excel and other relevant enterprise applications
    • Ability to summarize and effectively communicate complex subject matter
    • Proven analytical skills when working with large amounts of data with the ability to summarize and articulate risks/opportunities, options and recommendations
    • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter.
    • Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group. May act as a lead or first-level supervisor.
