  • Overview



    Receives, stores, and distributes product within company facilities.  Load and/or drives truck over established route to deliver wine, spirits, beer, and non-alcoholic beverage products to a licensed retailer location, while completing appropriate paperwork.



    • Read production schedule, customer order, work order, or shipping order, to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
    • Conducts mandatory pre-trip and post-trip inspections and completes checklist; checks for any vehicle damage; checks load and ensures stability of vehicle load to avoid product damage.
    • Responsible for the safe and legal operation of delivery equipment i n accordance with the company safety policies and operating procedures (including obeying all traffic regulations) and state and federal Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
    • Drives vehicle to deliver items to assigned customer's place of business in a timely manner.
    • Unloads product from vehicle safely and places it in customer’s establishment where directed.
    • Records sales or deliveries information on daily delivery records.
    • Collects or picks up empty containers or rejected or specified merchandise.
    • Provides person-to-person customer service during all deliveries; listens to and helps resolve customer complaints; refers billing issues to Customer Service department; represents the Company with courtesy to customers and while driving; phones in shortages and requests for next day deliveries. 
    • Obtains customer signature on invoice for pickup or delivery and collects payment in full as part of COD state regulation.
    • Cleans inside of truck.
    • Responsible for obeying all safety rules, maintaining clean work area and immediately reporting accidents to supervisor. 




    EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/EDUCATION: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


    COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before customers, managers or employees of the organization.


    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.


    REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.


    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must possess and maintain a class A or B drivers license.


    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS – (These are required to perform the key responsibilities of the job with or without accommodations)

    • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
    • Must be able to walk, stand, climb, balance, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl on a daily basis
    • Must be able to drive a reliable vehicle from account to account
