  • Overview

    Partners with the EVP Finance - Young’s Market Company in the planning, reporting, and control of company and/or any affiliates financial results. Leads numerous functional and cross functional processes, and engages in and with the organization on numerous operational activities with the purpose of improving financial results.


    • Lead the timely preparation and interpretation of company financial results and the assembly of business review presentations to communicate ongoing performance and orchestrate delivery of the annual plan
    • Lead risk and opportunity assessment activities to ensure delivery of planned financial results
    • Coordinates with all levels of management to gather, analyze, summarize, and prepare recommendations regarding financial plans, acquisition activity, future requirements, and operating forecasts.
    • Oversee and direct many aspects of delivering the Profit & Loss Statement on a monthly basis ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the results
    • Recap and communicate financial information on a regular basis for multiple purposes
    • Continually assess the financial reporting platform to ensure it drives organizational accountability to financial results and evolves with changing business needs
    • Develop market specific balance sheet and cash flow reporting and performance metrics
    • Formulation and execution of operational processes related to the annual operating plan, quarterly reforecasts, and other revenue driving or cost savings activities.
    • Make recommendations to management regarding profitability improvement strategies
    • Initiate, coordinate or lead special projects as needed to drive improved operational and financial results
    • Support various initiatives of the EVP Finance, market finance leads, or Sales/Ops leadership
    • Update, communicate, implement, and oversee key financial policies and deadlines
    • Continuously evaluate procedures, processes and techniques looking for ways to create synergy between departments
    • Directs preparation of budget
    • Prepares reports required by regulatory agencies
    • Maintain supplier contracts and coordinate transfers of new/old suppliers
    • Directly supervises Credit Supervisor, Credit Clerk, Internal Operations Clerk, Financial Analyst, Sr. Customer Service Clerk, and Front Receptionist. Carries out supervisor responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems


    EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university required, Masters Business Administration degree (M. B. A.) from an accredited four-year college or university with a concentration in Finance, strongly preferred.

    • 6 -8 years’ experience as analyst with investment bank or consulting firm.
    • Prior experience with distribution or consumer products company with revenues greater than $500Million


    COMMUNICATION SKILLS: This position requires the ability to effectively communicate with various levels of management. This position further requires the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from various groups including Executive Management, Business Line Managers, customers, banking institutions, and other outside parties. This role also requires the ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.


    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: This role requires the ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. This position also requires the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.


    REASONING ABILITY: This position requires the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. This role also requires the ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
